December 27: Month in Review
As 2010 draws to a close, and with your help, BtC4animals has proudly promoted 22 terrific causes since our inaugural post on June 28th! We now host a handy archive of these causes, many of which still deserve our ongoing attention. Please do revisit them when you have a moment.
Congratulations to the fabulous people behind these causes and to you, our loyal members, for your support. All your hard work on behalf of the animals this year truly has made a difference.
MONTHLY CAUSE UPDATES
- No Pet Goes Hungry for the Holidays
This month, you helped Hearty Pet reach their donation goal, giving 1500 lbs of wholesome Holistic Select pet food to 3 rescue organizations (Kitten Action Team, Lucky Dog Animal Rescue and Blind Dog Rescue Alliance) just by automating delivery of food you already purchase for your pets.
As a year end tally, you can add this achievement to K9Cuisine’s 5000 lb. donation of high quality food distributed among three shelters as well as Darford’s Plus One Campaign which has fed 66,048 zero G meals since it’s inception. FreeKibble.com, a cause hosted here earlier this year, has fed 4,466,553 nutritious meals to hungry dogs and cats too!
Rest assured, when you support feeding campaigns hosted on BtC4animals.com, the companies involved provide only high-nutrition food and do no animal testing.

- ForeclosurePets.org
So many of you passionately responded to this cause, concerned for pets who are abandoned due to foreclosure. Please continue to spread the word that there is an alternative to often deadly abandonment.
ForeclosurePets.org provides U.S. homeowners facing foreclosure free assistance in finding a new home and/or temporary adoption for their pets. Sign up at ForeclosurePets.org to post pet information, photos, a description, and contact information in order to find them a temporary home or a new family. You can also become a fan on Facebook.

- National Pet Poetry Contest
Engage our nation’s next generation of animal supporters by asking them to reflect on the joys and benefits of pet ownership through poetry. Entries for PAL’s 3rd Annual National Children’s Pet Poetry Contest are accepted through January 31, 2011 from 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students.
Write a unique poem about your pets, what you love about them, and the joys they bring. Post it on-line at PetsAddLife.org for a chance to win a $250 gift certificate for pet products, and a “by-line” in a nationally circulated publication. In addition, 6 winning students’ classrooms will each receive a $1,000 scholarship to spend on pet related education. Poems may also be submitted by mail to: Pets Add Life, 45 Winter Street, Reno, NV 89503.
Community Growth
By spreading the word, your community has grown steadily to 1,170 fans on Facebook and 1,512 followers on Twitter. BtC’s co-founders, Kim Clune and Amy Burkert, have also been joined by 3 contributers including Maggie Marton, Vicki Cook and Shauna Stewart – with help from Mary Haight. We’ll announce another team member next month, so keep your eyes peeled! Growth is good so please continue to spread the good word about the work you do here.
We wish you a Happy New Year and look forward to the many new ways we can improve the lives of voiceless animals together!

BtC4animals.com never asks you to spend a cent, just a few minutes of your time.
It’s the greatest gift you can give.
