Do You Know A Pet Owner In Need?

Why It Matters
Even when times are good, there are people struggling with pet care costs. Loss of a job, a house fire, medical bills, or a hundred other misfortunes can put a major strain on a family’s finances. But, when the economy takes a dip, more families are thrown into precarious positions. The evidence is there – many shelters are bursting with pets surrendered by distraught owners who can’t afford food, medical or other pet related expenses. Hopeless, these people feel there is no where else to turn.
Champion A Pet is working to solve that problem by building a social giving platform where people in a position to help can locate those in need. The generosity of complete strangers will allow pets to stay in loving homes with their families and at the same time alleviate the burden on the overcrowded shelters. We’re asking you to spread the word … to those in need and those who can help.

Chance is one of my six month old golden retrievers. He was recently diagnosed with severe hip dysplasia and I’m trying to raise money for his surgery. He will need 2 complete hip replacements in February of next year. The cost is just over $11,000. Please check out his story at the link I provided. Also, here is a video of chance at 11 weeks old; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XXaI0nraIcc&feature=youtube_gdata_player Even sharing this video with your audience and friends could help if you cannot post his story. –Thank you!
My teen and I travel around our city passing out water, blankets, towels, snack foods , meals, toiletries, animal food, toys and treats and more to street people and their pets. Operation Blankets of Love is a big donator and then we count on friends to donate items including fast food gift cards. When we have the funds we add to the supply list. Fuel alone costs more than we can afford some weeks but it is so worth our time. People have come to know our names as we have coen to know theirs and the names of their pets. They count on us and when we don’t have things for them they hurt. We have 4 rescue dogs and times are tough for us which makes it all that much more important to pay it forward. We are not representing a religious group nor are we a 501c3. We just care. I think what you are writing about here is wonderful!! Thank you!
Due to extreme financial hardship, I am frantic because I have no more food to feed my 3 dogs after this morning’s feeding. All 3 of dogs are adopted from shelters. One was born in a foster home and the other two were my foster dogs that I adopted. They are very precious to me, they give me so much joy that dropping them off at a shelter is not even an idea that I will consider. We have no money to even feed ourselves so we can’t even feed them human food. I don’t know what to do.
Due to financial struggle some pet owners give their beloved companion. It could hut emotionally but what can they do. Is there any programs that lends money for pet care?
