Farm Sanctuary
Okay, we all know how it ends up. Most farm animals, after all, are raised for food. But that doesn’t mean these animals should be treated inhumanely in the process.
Enter Farm Sanctuary. This organization works to protect farm animals from cruelty, inspire change in the way society views and treats farm animals, and promote compassionate vegan living. Through shelters in Watkins Glen, New York and Orland, California, Farm Sanctuary also provides lifelong care for hundreds of rescued farm animals.

Why it Matters
Animals raised on today’s industrialized farms are treated like unfeeling commodities, and their basic needs are completely ignored. They are crowded in factory farm warehouses, and confined so tightly that they cannot walk, turn around or lie down comfortably. Farm animals are de-beaked, de-toed, tail-docked, confined, crowded, neglected and denied the very basics of life: fresh air, wholesome food, room to move and, most importantly, freedom. Each one of us has the power to make a difference for the more than 9 billion farm animals slaughtered in the U.S. every year. Our individual powers are maximized even more when we work together on organized campaigns.

When I saw this video and saw everything you guys were doing, it made my heart filled with joy it brought so much hope to me it made me realize our world still has a chance to change and there are great people out there. Farm Sanctuary is an amazing place doing great things, as are all the causes we highlight. It is our greatest pleasure to help spread the word about the tremendous work each are doing. Thank you for sharing how this effects you so positively. While we’re cheerleading for these wonderful causes, it’s always nice to have cheerleaders on our side of the equation too.
